Kate Kirkwood
After arriving in Aotearoa from the UK, Kate spent years working as a gardener, cultivating garden beds and a growing passion for climate justice, resilience, and climate policy. After years of activism, and obsessive reading and podcast consumption in client’s gardens, she moved to Pōneke to complete a Master’s in Climate Change Science and Policy at Victoria University of Wellington.
Now a Climate Action Officer at Wellington City Council, Kate works to empower communities and accelerate climate action across the city. She is passionate about adaptive governance, resilient futures, and the collective action needed to navigate a changing climate.
